The 90G is the current-generation mid-branch FortiGate — successor territory to the 80F class. As early 90G deployments reach their first licence anniversaries, renewal interest in this model is climbing in South Africa.
The FortiGate 90G renews onto any of the four standard Fortinet bundles, each over a 12, 24 or 36-month term. Every bundle includes FortiCare Premium support and FortiOS firmware access; the security layers stack from there. Part numbers follow Fortinet's FC-10-… licence format — we confirm the exact SKU for your appliance on the quote.
| Bundle | What it keeps active | 12 mo | 24 mo | 36 mo |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FortiCare | Support, advanced hardware replacement, firmware access | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| ATP Bundle | FortiCare + IPS, anti-malware, application control, FortiSandbox Cloud | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| UTP Bundle (most popular) | ATP + web/DNS/video filtering, antispam, IoT detection | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Enterprise | UTP + OT/industrial security and attack-surface management | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Not sure which layer you actually use? Our ATP vs UTP vs Enterprise guide breaks it down honestly — including when the cheaper bundle is genuinely enough.
FortiGate 90G and 91G (serials starting FGT90G or FGT91G). Renewals for growing businesses and multi-branch networks on current-generation hardware. If your serial starts with something else, don't worry — enter it in the wizard and we'll verify the model against FortiCare automatically.
If the licence has already lapsed, the 90G keeps passing traffic but stops receiving FortiGuard updates — and newer FortiOS releases block firmware upgrades without active FortiCare. Renewals are back-dated to the expiry date under Fortinet's continuous-service rule. Full details: what happens when a FortiGate licence expires.

Only onboard storage — licensing, bundles and terms are identical. The part numbers differ, which your quote handles.
